This is the last chance for us to site Turing House school where it is needed.
UPDATE October 20 -- Richmond Council's Conservative administration outvoted a last minute bid by Liberal Democrat councillors to secure a better permanent site for the Turing House School.

Many local people raised their anger at the prospect of a new secondary school, Turing House, set to be built on the green space off Hospital Bridge Road. People say they are all the more concerned given that the school admissions will prioritise children living in Teddington above families living in Whitton and the congestion this school will add at rush hour. We have actively opposed this idea that was supported by your Conservative led Council,
Looking for viable alternatives several councillors, including your local Lib Dem Whitton and Heathfield councillors Liz Jaeger and John Coombs, recently visited a large area of unused council-owned land opposite Sainsbury's on the Uxbridge Road. It is easily big enough for a secondary school.
Importantly, this land is much closer to north Teddington where there is a shortage of secondary school places, and south of the busy A316, reducing the risk of added rush hour congestion.
The Liberal Democrats will be putting a motion to the Council meeting on September 13th, calling on the Conservatives Council leadership l to negotiate leases so that the unused land is returned and offered to Turing House.
This is the last chance for us to site Turing House school where it is needed. We know some Conservative councillors agree that Turing House should be on the Uxbridge Road site and we will use your support to keep up the pressure.
