Richmond's child poverty shame

New figures show that 6,000* children in Richmond are growing up in poverty and the Conservative run Council is making lives harder for their families. Under previous Liberal Democrat councils we exempted families on the lowest incomes from paying council tax. Now they are forced to pay 15%. That's around £250 a year for a struggling family living in an average home.

Sign up to back the Liberal Democrat plan to help tackle childhood poverty in Richmond. We will:

  • Reverse the Conservative cuts so that the poorest families don't have to pay council tax
  • Restore the school uniform grant
  • Take action to tackle period poverty
