We, the undersigned, call on Transport for London to work with local residents, businesses, community groups and Richmond upon Thames Council to improve the safety, appearance, health and feel of the East Sheen stretch of the Upper Richmond Road West.
TFL should support Liberal Democrat calls to:
- Invest and consult on the £5 million scheme promised for Upper Richmond Road West before pandemic
- As part of the scheme, enhance Milestone Green to make it an attractive space
- Introduce green calm spaces, replant and increase trees and flowers
- Replace plastic barriers with decorative planters
- Improve pedestrian and driver safety including at Sheen Lane junction
- Improve cycle facilities (incl. storage and racks) and road and pavement surfaces
- Support community events and removal of graffiti on commercial properties
- Action to tackle grid-locked traffic including ensuring TFL and utility companies coordinate roadworks
- Planning policies to support 20-minute neighbourhoods – everything you need within a 20 minute walk
