Heathfield update

December 2018 Heathfield Lib Dem update
Resurfaced car park on Farm RoadBring site on Powder Mill LaneNelson Road Bridge
● Newly resurfaced car park on Farm Road has just been opened (L), continued fly tipping at Powder Mill Lane bring site has been reported (centre) and wet leaves have been cleared from the various narrow footpaths on our local bridges (R).
I know most people will be getting ready for the Christmas holiday, your local Lib Dem team wanted to update you on a few issues.
1) Turing House School - Planning application finally been validated
The application for the Hospital Bridge Road has finally been validated. Therefore residents can look at the plans and leave their feedback. Remember, whether in support or opposition of the plans, the only feedback that will be taken into account is in relation into planning issues - loss of light, traffic congestion, loss of green space, road safety - please click here to have your say: www.richmond.gov.uk/planning or goo.gl/MiPYq4
2) Have your say on local bus issues (H22 & 110 link to consultation here)
As many of you are aware Transport for London are looking to make changes to the 110 and H22 bus services. The consultation deadline has been extended to January 6th. Please make sure you have your say.

3) Christmas waste and recycling collection
Remember the waste and recycling collections will be delayed slightly because of the bank holidays. The collection on Christmas Day will shift to Thursday 27th, the Boxing Day collection will shift to Friday 28. The normal Thursday collection will shift to Saturday and normal Friday collection will shift to Sunday. The week after, other than the Monday collection which stays the same, the other collections will shift forward a day.

4) Heathfield Rec - Come and join the new 'Friends' group

A group of us met in Heathfield Primary School in November along with SWLEN to start a new friends of group for Heathfield Rec. If you would like to sign up for email updates or join please visit http://e-voice.org.uk/friends-of-heathfield-rec/ or contact Lesley Pollesche for more information.

5) 31a Whitton Waye
Some of you will know that a fire destroyed a bungalow just off Whitton Waye. The property has been left as it was since the fire earlier this year. We can report that the site has now been boarded up and secured while the insurance company deals with the ongoing claim.
6) 310 Nelson Road (Old Threshers wine shop building)
The construction work has recommenced and continues slowly. We continue to monitor the site and make sure any fly tipping or unauthorised access to the site is dealt with as quickly as possible. As residents will know the old Threshers building was stalled mid renovation for some time, but thanks to Vince Cable MP and local councillors building work is progressing. We will continue to monitor the situation.
Ongoing building work at 310 Nelson Road
7) Have your say on 20mph - Deadline tomorrow!
The Liberal Democrats are a step closer to delivering a key election promise to deliver safer roads and cleaner air. The consultation closes tomorrow. Make sure you have your say!

8) Whitton CPZ update
Following the consultation in the autumn, the report is being drafted. Parking surveys are being scheduled in for early in the new year. As soon as a report is published we will try and share the details with you. We have raised the issue of people parking on the high street for extended periods of time and blocking access to our shops in the run up to Christmas. Traffic wardens have been out and about making sure the parking restrictions are enforced.
Your local councillors have also been following up on some of the regular case work we receive including making sure wet leaves have been cleared away from the narrow footpaths, fly tipping on Powder Mill Lane cleared away, housing issues to name a few.
Our next street surgery is going to be on Saturday 5th January on Whitton High Street - we usually have a stall outside the old Lloyds bank and we also have space in the Whitton youth zone on Britannia Lane. We’ll be there between 10am and 12 noon.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2019
