Twickenham Police Counter

Protecting our Police!

Labour Mayor Saqid Khan has forced cuts upon our local police. The Royal Parks police, that keep our precious Richmond Park and Bushy Park safe, have been cut. Labour have also broken a manifesto pledge, closing the police counter in Twickenham, and leaving our entire borough without constant in-person access to police services.

The Liberal Democrats are working to keep residents safe in the face of sweeping police cuts. However, this can't go on. The Liberal Democrats have fought these cuts tooth and nail and will always fight to keep Richmond safe.

Gareth Roberts AM is leading the fight against the closure of Twickenham's police counter. He said, "the decision to axe half of London’s police counters will come as a massive shock to many Londoners. At a time when crime, and the fear of crime, is on the rise across the capital this not only sends the wrong message, but is yet more evidence that Sadiq Khan is failing in his duty to the to make the case to the Labour Government for the funding needed to keep London and Londoners safe.”

Munira Wilson MP and Sarah Olney MP have written to the Home Secretary to protest the cuts to our police. See their letter below!

Save Public Facing Front Counter Services at Twickenham Police Station

We are concerned at the announced closure of 24/7 front counter services at Twickenham Police station. This would leave our entire borough without any public access points, leaving residents without a way to report a crime, provide documentation, or seek support from the police in person. Following the closure of Richmond Police Station and the scrapping of the Royal Parks Police Units, we won't tolerate further cuts to local police services. We demand the Mayor of London keeps front counter services at Twickenham Police station open.
