Meet your West Twickenham candidates
Meet your candidates for West Twickenham, Piers, Alan and Rachel!
Pies, Alan and Rachel are committed to:
✓ Combating the cost of living crisis by providing support and fighting for the livelihoods of the most vulnerable residents of our community
✓ Keeping our streets safer by opposing the closures of the Royal Parks Police and the 24-hour police counter in Twickenham
✓ Continued investment in the repairs and maintenance of our borough's roads and pavements
Piers Allen
As a resident of thirty years, and a councillor for twenty, Piers Allen wants to continue to represent West Twickenham Ward, to champion local schools, our vibrant community and accessible parks.
With a past career in medical publishing, Piers has been the lead councillor for Adult Social Care and Health since 2018. Piers is also a governor of Trafalgar Schools and Kingston & Richmond Foundation Trust and a Trustee of the Mulberry Cancer (Support) Centre.
West Twickenham and Richmond upon Thames are great, healthy places to live and grow up in, as Piers has since 1991, and he is passionate about keeping them that way.
Alan Juriansz
Alan Juriansz was first elected in 2018. He has represented West Twickenham for the last eight years, and has held various roles in the administration. As a councillor, Alan has worked with community groups as a Deputy Cabinet Member, liaised between residents and housing associations as tenants champion, supported sports development in the borough as Lead member for sports and vice chair of the environment committee.
Rachel Robertson
Rachel Robertson has spent her career in legal technology, but has always volunteered within her community.
Over the last twenty years, while her children attended local schools, Rachel read with most of their classmates, helped out with music and lead a Guide Unit. Her political hero had a saying that, “we all do better when we all do better.”
Rachel hopes to contribute to making our community of Twickenham better for all our residents by working with her colleagues on the council, and to make Richmond Borough a fair, safe and green place to live and thrive.
