for an enjoyable evening in the magnificent surroundings of The Dome, where the
architecture and atmosphere provide the perfect backdrop for good dining with
distinguished company. The Dome's soaring roof line, artwork, and warm
candlelit ambience will create a memorable setting for a truly great night out.
This
special occasion offers a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow
members of the party from four constituencies and local parties, forge new
friendships, and engage in conversation with members across diverse fields and
backgrounds.
Access
to the college is step-free and there is a lift up to the Dome.
The address for pedestrians, drop-offs and taxis is: Buckingham Road, opposite No. 6 Huntingdon Road
The car park entrance is next to No 61 Storey’s Way, CB3 0DR, accessed only from Madingley Road, NOT Huntingdon Road.
After
dinner, there will be short speeches from senior party members and also a
keynote speaker, details to be announced in due course
The
evening will feature a reception where sparkling wine or soft drinks will be
available. A three-course meal prepared
by the college’s catering team follows (with or without wine). While we enjoy tea or coffee with petit fours
after dinner, there will be short speeches from senior party members and also a
keynote speaker. Afterwards, a paid bar
will be available for post-dinner drinks.
We very
much look forward to welcoming you for what promises to be a memorable evening
of fine dining, excellent company, and the unique surroundings of Murray
Edwards College.
Parking
There
are three disabled parking bays (on a first-come first first-served basis)
immediately outside the porters’ lodge, at the entrance from Buckingham
Road. There are further disabled spaces
and standard spaces in the car park, which is accessible from Storey’s Way
(Madingley Road side). From this car
park, it is a five-minute walk through the college grounds to the Dome. The route is signposted and well-lit.
The Epsom & Ewell's Annual General Fish & Chips Meeting.
Please note, this is only open to members.
The guest speaker will be Sir Vince Cable (Former Liberal Democrat Party Leader), followed by our Honorary President, Tom Brake (Lib Dem MP for Carshalton and Wallington from 1997 to 2019). Tom is now Director of the cross party pressure group Unlock Democracy. He has an extensive experience of working both in and out of government on building consensus solutions.
Vital business matters will have to be discussed and voted upon, but we aim to circulate relevant information and figures well beforehand. We should therefore be able to get through business quickly, allowing plenty of time for freshly delivered fish and chips from the chippie across the road, and for our annual Awards Ceremony!
