We need to fix our trading relationship with Europe to tackle the cost of living crisis and grow our economy.

The Conservatives wrecked our economy, wrapped business in red tape and sent prices higher with their botched Brexit deal. Backed by Nigel Farage, they blew an enormous hole in the UK economy, costing us billions.

That's why Liberal Democrats are calling for the UK to join the single market and customs union, to fix the damage done by Brexit and get our country back on track.

Our plan for a bold new deal with Europe would tackle the cost of living crisis and give the government more money for our schools, hospitals and Armed Forces. We would also boost cooperation with Europe on defence to keep Britain safe in an uncertain world.

This would be the biggest step we can take now towards the long-term goal of UK membership of the EU.
