Where is Labour's fight to restore Hammersmith Bridge?

This week the Liberal Democrats protested Hammersmith & Fulham council to ask one simple question, where is the fight to restore Hammersmith Bridge?

Hammersmith Bridge continues to remain unrepaired, and as such remains closed to any motorised transport.

The Liberal Democrats will continue to call for repairs to the bridge, so that at a minimum it can be reopened to buses and blue light services that communities on both sides of the river rely on.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Alex Ehmann said, “Hammersmith & Fulham Council has shown ambition before. Where is that same determination here.”

Our communities should not accept permanent disconnection. To this day residents on both sides of the river continue to use services on either bank. The Liberal Democrats have continuously argued for a better bridge. Such a key crossing should not be limited to walking and cycling. It should be repaired to allow key services such as buses and emergency services access across.
